Permanent Injury Compensation
Clients who suffer a permanent injury may be entitled to ACC Lump Sum Compensation or an Independence Allowance.

Dr Kantilal Kanji was part of the inaugural training held by ACC in Wellington in 1997 for Impairment Assessments based on the American Medical Association's (AMA) Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment 4th Edition.

Over the last 23 years, together with annual training, he has completed over 5,000 assessments and over 3,000 report reviews, which makes him one of the most experienced physical claims assessors and peer reviewers in New Zealand.

Permanent Injury Compensation reports and ratings are compiled in accordance with:
-
The instructions and guidance provided during the ACC Independence Allowance Assessor Training Programme
-
The ACC User Handbook to the AMA Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment 4th Edition
-
Reference to the appropriate tables, figures, charts and text of the AMA Guides to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment 4th Edition
